Our Beliefs

What We Believe

At Immanuel Church, we believe the good news of Jesus changes everything. Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture and centered on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Here's a summary of what we hold to be true:

The Gospel

The gospel is the heart of our faith. It’s the good news that even though we were separated from God by sin , God didn’t leave us there. In love, God sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life we couldn’t live, die the death we deserved, and rise again to offer us forgiveness and new life. Jesus lived, died, rose again, and one day He will return to make all things new.

Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Isaiah 53:5; Galatians 3:13, 1 Corinthians 15:3–5, John 14:3

The Trinity

We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, equal in nature, eternal in existence, and unique in role.

  • God the Father is the Creator and sustainer of all things.

  • Jesus the Son is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin , the Savior of the world.

  • The Holy Spirit lives in believers today, guiding, empowering, and shaping us to become more like Jesus.

God is holy and sovereign—self-existent , unchanging , all-powerful , and all-knowing.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7, Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 44:24, Luke 1:35, Hebrews 1:2–3, John 16:7–15; Romans 8:11, Revelation 21:6, Psalm 102:27, Genesis 18:14, Romans 11:33

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word—divinely inspired, trustworthy, and true . It tells the story of God’s love, His plan to rescue us, and how we are invited to live with and live like Jesus. Scripture is our foundation for faith, practice, and daily life.

2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21, Psalm 119:105; John 17:17; Hebrews 4:12

Humanity

Every person is made in the image of God, with dignity, value, and purpose. God created us to know Him, reflect His character, and partner with Him in His mission. Both men and women are equally loved by God and called to serve and lead as part of His kingdom.

Genesis 1:26–27, Isaiah 43:7

Sin & Salvation

All of us have sinned and turned away from God. That separation left us spiritually dead and in need of rescue. But in His great love, God sent Jesus to save us . Through Jesus’ death on the cross, we are offered forgiveness , and through His resurrection, we’re given new life.

Salvation is a gift from God—not something we can earn, but something we receive by faith in Jesus.
