About Immanuel Church
Immanuel Church is a new non-denominational church in Charlotte, North Carolina, launched in September 2025 with a mission to invite all people to live with and live like Jesus. We’re a growing, diverse community of families, young adults, and neighbors learning to follow Jesus together in our city.
Position Summary
The Director of Ministries will lead the church’s ministry operations while supporting the people and systems that make ministry possible. With oversight and guidance from the Lead Pastor, this role builds healthy volunteer teams, strengthens ministry systems, and ensures the effective execution of discipleship environments, events, and Sunday gatherings.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Drive the implementation of the church’s vision and goals.
Work closely with the Lead Pastor and church leadership to align ministry efforts with Immanuel’s mission and values.
Oversee and coach Ministry Captains (volunteer leaders), helping them build and lead effective teams.
Recruit, select, equip, lead, and multiply leaders.
Ministry Development
Provide leadership and oversight for key ministry areas (Kids, Students, Groups, Worship, Outreach, etc.).
Support discipleship pathways that help people live with and live like Jesus.
Contribute to teaching and preaching as needed, reinforcing Immanuel’s mission and values.
Lead the planning and execution of outreach gatherings and special events, ensuring excellence and hospitality.
Evaluate ministry effectiveness and implement improvements that promote long-term health and impact.
Operations & Stewardship
Implement and manage ministry processes, communication tools, and planning systems to support healthy growth.
Develop rhythms and structures that promote healthy volunteer/staff culture, accountability, and spiritual formation.
Ensure that all people and systems operate within the church’s risk management and safety procedures.
Qualifications
Deep and growing relationship with Jesus, marked by humility, integrity, and love for people.
Proven experience leading teams and systems in a church or organizational setting (5+ years preferred).
Comfortable managing multiple projects, systems, and details simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and servant-hearted approach.
Bachelor’s degree required; seminary or equivalent ministry training preferred.

Compensation
Compensation will be determined based on experience and fit.
