About Immanuel Church
Immanuel Church is a new non-denominational church in Charlotte, North Carolina, launched in September 2025 with a mission to invite all people to live with and live like Jesus. We’re a growing, diverse community of families, young adults, and neighbors learning to follow Jesus together in our city.
Position Summary
The Operations Director serves as a key leader alongside the Lead Pastor in implementing Immanuel’s vision and strengthening the health of the church’s ministries, systems, and leaders. This role provides oversight to ministry operations, builds sustainable structures, develops leaders, and stewards resources with excellence. The Operations Director will model integrity, humility, and relational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and develop ministry systems that support Immanuel’s mission and values, ensuring unity and alignment across all ministry areas.
Oversee and coach Ministry Captains (volunteer leaders), helping them build healthy and effective teams.
Recruit, select, equip, lead, and multiply leaders.
Partner with Leadership to translate vision into actionable plans.
Ministry Development
Ensure strategic alignment and collaboration between ministries (Kids, Students, Groups, Worship, Discipleship, etc.).
Develop operational plans that promote long-term success and kingdom impact.
Support the development and implementation of leadership pipelines that identify, train, and deploy volunteers and future leaders.
Evaluate ministry effectiveness and recommend improvements for ongoing growth and health.
Operations & Stewardship
Oversee church operations including finances, human resources, facilities, andadministrative systems.
Work with the Board to manage budgets, financial reporting, and regulatorycompliance.
Ensure strong financial integrity, risk management, and operational transparency.
Develop processes and rhythms that promote healthy staff culture, accountability, and spiritual formation.
Qualifications
Deep and growing relationship with Jesus, marked by humility, integrity, and love for people.
Proven experience leading teams and systems in a church or organizational setting (5+ years preferred).
Strong organizational and strategic leadership skills; able to move vision into action.
Excellent relational and communication skills, with a collaborative and empowering leadership style.
Bachelor’s degree required; seminary or equivalent ministry training preferred.

Compensation
Compensation will be determined based on experience and fit.
